Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue !!! ............

"Earlier this month, I had the pleasure to work with one of Disney’s most beloved and timeless characters, Tinker Bell! I’m singing the opening and closing songs as well as narrating the opening sequence on the new “Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue” movie due out in Autumn of 2010. It was an amazing experience. I spent three full days in Abbey Road Studios recording my lines and songs with the brilliant composer Joel McNeely, Director Bradley Raymond and Producer Helen Kalafatic. I can’t wait for you all to see and hear the end results."
Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue is an all-new magical adventure featuring Tinker Bell’s very first interaction with a human being. Before she was ever introduced to Wendy and the Lost Boys, Tinker Bell met Lizzy, a girl with a steadfast belief in fairies. As their different worlds unite, Tink develops a special bond with the curious girl in need of a friend. And of course, her fellow fairies launch a daring rescue to save Tinker Bell and return her to Fairy Camp.

HUGE congratulations to Cara and Sam after their latest album, "Hill Of Thieves", scooped "ALBUM OF THE YEAR" at the 2010 BBC RADIO 2 FOLK AWARDS. Cara and Sam wanted to add this:
"We'd like to thank everyone who has contributed in some part to the making and promotion of "Hill Of Thieves". It's been an incredible year and this award adds that special feel good factor and should be shared by all of you. It's testament to all the hard work and talent everyone has ploughed in.

Cara's won awards in both the categories she was nominated in at the inaugural 2010 SPIRAL AWARDS
She won "BEST FEMALE SINGER" and "BEST TRADITIONAL SONG" for "Jimmy Mo Mhile Stor". The awards were decided by a online public vote so thanks a million to everyone who clicked in support. Here's what the Spirals had to say about Cara winning the "BEST FEMALE SINGER" award:
"What can you say? Cara still has possibly the most recognisable voice in folk, with her new album, Hill of Thieves she is at the top of her game. Mind you, we say that with every album she produces and then she confounds us by being just that bit better next time."

Transatlantic Sessions ............

For anyone who managed to attend one of the Transatlantic Sessions shows in various sold out concert halls around the country you will be well aware of how special and unique the performances were. There was pure magic unfolding onstage constantly and by all accounts the musicians and singers were as enthralled by how good it was as much as the audiences. Here's a great photo of Cara taken at the Royal Festival Hall.

GlobalFEST NYC 2010 - ............

Cara has officially been invited as one of only 12 artists to perform a showcase at GlobalFEST in the prestigious Webster Hall in New York on January 10th 2010. The official write up about the event goes a bit like this:
For seven years GlobalFEST has been the springboard festival for world music artists on the brink of North American national mainstage success, performers known in one community but ready to cross into others, and the marquee stars of tomorrow.

USA Album Release !............

Cara's latest album "HILL OF THIEVES" was officially released on September 15th in the US. It is available to buy at most online retailers and all record stores worth their salt. The album has different cover art than the European release.

GRAND OPERA HOUSE ** DVD **............

A huge thank you to everyone who was at the Grand Opera House in Belfast on Sunday 13th Sept for the filming of Cara's live DVD. It was a truly incredible evening for all involved with an overwhelming sense that something very special was unfolding on stage. The music was absolutely breathtaking and the audience got a whole lot more than they expected.
Well done to Cara and Sam and their amazing band for such a stunning concert. They received no more than three standing ovations from the sold out audience. A big thank you to all the film, lighting and stage crew and everyone else who was part of the project.
The release has been tentatively set for Spring/Summer 2010.
