Cara on RTE Television ............

Cara is being interviewed and performs in a relaxed an informal setting on episode six of Aniar Aduaidh which is being broadcast on RTE 1 Television on Friday night at 19:30 (29/03/2013). The series follows Altan's Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh as she explores the North of Ireland and visits some of her closest musical friends.

BBC Radio 2 will be broadcasting two songs from Cara's exquisite concert at Celtic Connection Festival in Glasgow with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. They'll be part of a show of highlights from the festival which will air tonight at 22:00 hrs (29/01/13).

Cara's Christmas on the TV ............

Fans in Ireland were spoiled over the New Year period with three separate TV programmes featuring Cara being broadcast over the space of a couple of days. RTE 2, BBC Northern Ireland and TG4 broadcast the following: Cara's "Live At The Grand Opera House" concert taken from her live DVD, her appearance with the Ulster Orchestra in the Ulster Hall as part of BBC Radio Ulsters "Great Northern Songbook" and the Celtic Connections concert from January 2012 called "A Song For Ireland". If you managed to catch any we hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

The BBC have just posted a video of Cara performing "The Verdant Braes Of Skreen" with The Ulster Orchestra at The Great Northern Songbook concert which took place in May to celebrate 150 years of the iconic venue The Ulster Hall. Her song "The Hill Of Thieves" was also voted in the top 10 original songs to come out of Northern ireland alongside songs by Van Morrison, Paul Brady and The Undertones.

DISNEY DREAMS PREMIER! ............

Cara, Sam and the kids have just returned from a magical weekend at Disneyland Paris where they were hosted to celebrate the Park's 20th anniversary. They walked the red carpet and attended a Gala dinner along with other celebrities including Shakira, Salma Hayek, Zinedine Zidane and Jonathan Ross and were then treated to a private World Premier of the new nighttime spectacular show "DISNEY DREAMS" featuring a new song performed by Cara and Sam which was recorded in Abbey Road earlier this year.
The show will run every night for a year and possibly beyond. You can catch a video of the premier HERE. Cara's song starts after about 20mins and is called "Come Dream A Dream"...

Shakespeare, The Sonnets ............

400 hundred years in the making, no less! Cara's singing possibly one of the worlds most famous poems, "Shall I Compare Thee To A Summers Day" (Sonnet 18), on a new album featuring 11 of Shakespeare's Sonnets that have been set to music in a groundbreaking new project set to be released on April 23rd (Shakespeare's birthday) and as part of the Cultural Olympiad 2012.
In tribute to Shakespeare's time, all the instruments used on the album are authentic instruments from early 17th century. These include the Lirone, Theorbo, Viol, Cornett, Sackbut, Curtal, Shawm, Lute, Harpsichord, Virginals, Dulcimer and early Trumpet. However, all the musical arrangements are of a very contemporary nature and are really quite breathtaking. There'll be more info to follow this as the release gathers pace, but for now you can pre-order the album Here.
